During one of their yet-untold travels, the Straw Hat Pirates encountered a strange storm that almost sunk their ship when it threw their ship aaginst some huge pumpkin-and-horn-like rocks. When the storm was over, they found themselves behind the rocks and near the beach of an island that was surrounded by a thick mist. According to Nami, the island wasn't present on any of her maps. So, while the others repaired the ship, Nami and Nico decided to explore the island and gather some food. During the expedition, they discovered some seemingly ancient ruins near a lake surrounded by trees full of milky-white fruits. Fruits that resembled small, white udders.
There were also the remains of writings on a nearby wall. While Nico deciphered them, Nami spotted something half-buried under a pile of rocks. It turned out to be a small box. With Nico focused on the texts, Nami secretly put it in her bag. Nami then gathered some of the fruits, which were emitting a tasty (almost seductive) scent. The text was incomplete, but (according to Nico) it said the sacred fruits were perfect for refilling one's energy and restore their health. There were other words and fragmented sentences that hinted at a unique and seemingly temporary reaction that happened whenever the fruits were consumed at certain nights and by certain people, but the exact specifics had been long since lost to time.
That missing section of text would have warned anybody, but especially those who've eaten a devil fruit, against eating the udder-like fruits during nights with a full moon. If they did, he or she would then serve as the lost tribe's supplier of milky health for a significant period of time. Another warning was also given to those consuming any of that milk during such a night, but this too wast sadly lost.
Unaware of these missing pieces of information, Nami and Nico gathered enough fruits for the whole crew. Returning to the almost-repaired ship, they all enjoyed a big picnic, freely sharing their discoveries to the delight of everyone else. The fruits tasted so good, in fact, that the crew decided to go back and replenish their food supply before they departed.
Once they'd finished the repairs and gathered as many of the fruits as they could, the Straw Hat Pirates finally left the island behind. They passed through the mist surrounding the island, and soon after were back on course to the next harbour.
The next night, which was the night of the full moon, Luffy couldn’t sleep. Feeling hungry, as usual, he decided to get some more of those fruits to munch on...
Later that same evening, Nami and Nico (who also found that they couldn't get to sleep for some unknowable reason) heard odd noises coming from their storage and decide to investigate.
The source of those sounds was Luffy... or rather, the extremely curvy and milky cowgirl he had turned into. He (now she) seemed to be blissfully happy with her new condition and begged their friends to milk them. Well, she was the captain... so they got some buckets and did just that! While milking the blissfully mooing and groaning captain, the girls talk about his (sorry, her) condition and what Nico had found. Between their conversation and the act of milking their formerly male captain, both girls got curious about the milk filling their buckets and tried some.
The milk tasted wonderful, but then came the full moon's transformative side effects. At first it was only Nico Robin who got physically affected. Watching her stoically faced friend grow udders and horns in amazement, Nami remembered the scrolls she had found. Who'd have thought it would turn out to contain a bundle of scrolls... some of them about the mysterious fruits and their powers! According to these extra scrolls, the side effects of the fruits and milk were based on the full moon. This meant that their collective predicament was a temporary one and would fade without any lasting harm within a day or two (depending on the amount eaten or drunk).
Reassured by this new information, Nico continued to milk Luffy while Nami turned her thoughts toward how they could profit off of this odd situation. Lost in thought as she plotted her next get-rich-quick scheme, Nami absentmindedly nibbled on one of the fruits. This, of course, resulted in her joining Luffy in front of Nico's milking stool. Undeterred by having to add herself to this new business venture, Nami opened the “Straw Hat Milky Bar” at their next harbour stop, selling the best milk-based drinks and foods the island had to offer. It was a complete success from day one, especially with the more-or-less voluntary help of the harbour's less welcomed guests and more gullible members of the Straw Hat crew.
The business continues to grow in more ways than one!
